Design Process Assignment

For my assessment project, I decided I wanted to make a logo and a poster for a movie. So part of my research was looking at movie posters, some of them satirical. I want to take what I've drawn recently as a basis for a made up movie.
My first source of inspiration comes from a Strong Bad Email about Independent movies, satirizing them and comparing different kinds of films and genres. One is an abstract, art film about nothing, another is a boring family film about a quirky, disfunctional family, and another one is a a sci fi action movie. (which is a far superior genre to the other two)

STRONG BAD: {voiceover} The title of the movie is either two of the cleverly named main characters, or the city and state in which it takes place. Ooh, in fact, just call it "city comma state".

STRONG BAD: an indie film's plot is pretty much the same as any summer blockbuster, but just switch out any mention of the word "space" with the word, "small factory town", replace "aliens" with "quirky, dysfunctional family", And replace "voyage" with... "journey".

To complete my research, I needed some more info on movie posters before I could know what kind of logo design to aim for that fits well with the images I've got and the kind of movie I'm trying to advertise.

For my logo design, the name I chose for it was Quills of Steel. The name represents a madeup action/romance movie about hedgehogs for my logo and poster designs to be about.
Here's my Mindmap I made for this project:

And here's three sketched out designs in pencil:

For feedback, I took them to the Cert III forums in the Design section (http://ddmstudy.com/mod/forum/view.php?f=417) and this is what was said:

In response to this part of the assignment:

My logo uses only subtle amounts of red and blue, but it's not really neccessary to see them in full color. So here's what it looks like in black and white:

Sketched out ideas for what the poster should look like
For my poster, I found a font online (http://www.dafont.com/sf-movie-poster.font) and a project from last year that involved photography and drawing.
